Having internet issues? We know how frustrating that can be. Though we do everything we can to provide reliable CenturyLink services, outages and other problems happen from time to time. When you need help with your internet or phone services, we offer several support tools to keep you connected without the need for a phone call. Here you’ll learn about different online support options, as well as text support.

Text support

The latest support tool that connects you with a real-live human is text support on your mobile phone. This is a great way to get help with an issue on your own terms. Simply text your question to our support team at 888-320-3452 and then proceed with your day — run errands, fix dinner, work from home, and everything else you do.

Text support can help with billing questions, speed upgrades, moves, repairs, appointments, and more. Your first message will be routed by a bot to the best agent to provide help. Then you can interact with a real person, at times that work for you. If the agent responds while you’re busy with something else, that’s okay. You can respond when you’re free and continue the conversation at your pace. Keep in mind that message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile carrier.

Internet speed test

Need to check your speed? Use our free internet speed test. It takes about 30 seconds and tests both download and upload speed. This support tool also provides statistics about ping to help diagnose any issues in case your internet may not be running as quickly as it should. There are a lot of variables that can impact the results of each internet speed test, including whether you’re connected to the internet via WiFi or Ethernet, how far away from the modem you are, and how many devices are currently connected to your WiFi network. To get an accurate picture of internet speed, you should run the test a few times, and be sure you’re not connected to a VPN. You should also test your internet speed from one device, preferably connected directly to the modem by Ethernet.

Troubleshooter

The Troubleshooter is a robust support tool that runs diagnostic tests on your CenturyLink line to find any problems with your phone or internet service. To start, it checks for any known outages in your area. If no outages are found, it detects if the problem is specific to your individual service, such as an inactive account or a repair request for your account. If the tool can’t diagnose your problem, it will direct you to troubleshooting resources and support web pages depending on the nature of your issue. Finally, if further help is needed, you can chat with an agent on the spot or schedule a repair request. Before you get started, make sure you know your account number or billing phone number and service zip code. Troubleshooter runs several different tests and can automatically fix a number of issues with your account and your equipment, providing online support without the need to stay on a phone call.

My Appointments

With My Appointments, you gain control of any scheduled service. Use this online support tool to reschedule or cancel service appointments to fit your calendar. Have you recently started or changed your service with us? You can view your appointment time window for a technician installation. On the day of your appointment, check to see the approximate location of your technician. Finally, view your appointment history for any closed or canceled requests. Your appointment history is a great way to track what issues you have had in the past, which can be very helpful if you are seeing the same issue again and again.

Payment Arrangements

If you find yourself in a pinch and need extra time to pay your bill, you can use our Payment Arrangements to break up your payments into more manageable amounts and schedule them automatically. There are four options to suit your needs and make it easier to make your payments, depending on your cash flow. Whether you choose to pay a past due amount, break up payments, or make an early payment, the Payment Arrangements online support tool helps you gain some extra time to pay your bill.

Quick Bill Pay

If you need to pay a bill on the fly, or don’t have an online account set up yet, you can use Quick Bill Pay. Just enter your account number, a phone number or an email on your account, and your billing zip code to pay with a credit card or bank information. This online tool is quick, easy, and most importantly, secure. Be prepared that one-time payments by credit card do incur an additional processing fee. Payment by bank account transfer (ACH) is always free. To use saved payment information, you need to sign in to your account at My CenturyLink.

AutoPay

Are you tired of signing in to CenturyLink’s website every month to pay your bill or do you sometimes forget to do it? You can sign up for AutoPay to automatically pay your bill every month. This is a simple and hassle-free process that helps you check one more monthly to-do off your list.

Personal TechPro

Think of Personal TechPro as your personal tech assistant. For an additional monthly fee, this tool can help you troubleshoot your personal devices, including smart devices. Personal TechPro supports desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, modems and routers, and numerous smart home devices. Need to set up voice commands for your smart assistant? This tool can help you configure and set up an unlimited number of devices. And you’ll get help fast: the Personal TechPro team typically answers calls and chats in 30 seconds or less.
