Summary
- Genshin Impact 5.0 will introduce three new Natlan characters Kinich, Mualani, and Kachina, as confirmed by HoYoverse.
- Mualani is a Hydro character and her gameplay kit has been leaked, hinting at a DPS role with unique gameplay elements like surfing on a shark.
- Kinich is a Dendro character, rumored to be a claymore user focused on mobility and Night Spirit mechanics.
The Phase 1 and Phase 2 character banner structure for Genshin Impact 5.0 has allegedly leaked, showcasing when the new characters will appear within the patch, as well as the 5-star characters that are being set up for rerun banners once Natlan is released. Version 5.0 will be the next huge patch for the action RPG by HoYoverse, as it will introduce the new region of Natlan to the playable map of Teyvat and, with it, a whole new roster of Natlan characters in Genshin Impact are set to be released over the course of the next year.
While nearly 10 characters from Natlan have recently been revealed in a teaser, three of them have been confirmed for the upcoming patch. Kinich, Mualani, and Kachina are the first three Natlan characters, as officially confirmed by the developer. For now, only the elements and designs of these characters have been confirmed, but leaks provide details such as their weapon types, gameplay kits, and rarities. Based these Natlan character leaks in Genshin Impact, Kinich and Mualani will be 5-star units, while Kachina will be a new 4-star character. Now, leaks show that even the order of the releases is known.

Three New Characters Are Confirmed For Genshin Impact 5.0
Kazuha & Raiden Shogun Are Rumored To Appear In Rerun Character Banners
As seen in information provided by the leaker known as Dim on X (formerly Twitter), which has a track record of accurate leaks and is well-known within the leaks community, the Phase 1 and Phase 2 banners for Version 5.0 have been revealed. According to them, Mualani will debut in Phase 1 banners alongside a rerun of Kazuha, while Kinich will be released in Phase 2 banners with a rerun of Raiden Shogun. The new rumored 5-star characters from Natlan seem to be following the same order they were presented in posts on the official Genshin Impact account on X.
The leak does not mention in which of the Genshin Impact 5.0 banners the rumored 4-star character Kachina will make her own debut.
Mualani Is Rumored To Be A Hydro DPS
Mualani is confirmed to be a Hydro character and, based on the leaks about her so far, she will be a 5-star catalyst user. According to Mualani’s leaked gameplay kit by Foul, which was shared on Reddit, her Elemental Skill will see her enter a surfing state, in which she rides the shark-shaped mount she uses in the teaser trailer. Additionally, Mualani gains Night Spirit points, which makes her enter the Night Spirit Empowerment state. While in this state, Mualani’s movement speed on the mount is increased and allows her to move over fuel elements in Genshin Impact’s Natlan region.
These fuel elements may be lava and water. The leak also mentions that Mualani gains immunity to fuel elemental damage. Furthermore, while in the enhanced state, her Normal Attacks are converted into Shark Bite, which deals Hydro DMG by consuming Night Spirit value and is based on her Max HP. The leak also says that she can collide with enemies, applying a Prey Mark on them, which grants Mualani a stack of Charge – each increases the damage of Normal Attacks, and, at three stacks, the enhanced Normal Attacks increase damage even more, and clear Charge in Genshin Impact.
The Prey Mark Mualani allegedly applies to enemies and sees that, whenever they are hit by her Normal Attacks, she will launch missiles at up to five nearby enemies. Mualani’s leaked Elemental Burst is a powerful AoE missile attack. Based on the leaks of her active and passive abilities, Mualani will operate as a main Hydro DPS on the field, potentially scaling off her Max HP stat. She is even rumored to match Neuvillette’s power in Genshin Impact 5.0 leaks. More concrete details about her kit should be revealed by HoYoverse during the Version 5.0 livestream.
On the other hand, Kazuha is already well-established as a 5-star Anemo support unit. In fact, the wandering swordsman is one of the best support units in the game and can even double as a sub-DPS. Kazuha can help gather enemies with his Elemental Skill. Additionally, he provides superb Elemental DMG Bonuses and his easily chargeable Elemental Burst can help Swirl elements for continued Elemental DMG that scales off his Elemental Mastery. The Swirls he inflicts are also what trigger the Elemental DMG Bonuses, making him a reliable support character in Genshin Impact.
Despite the uncertainty of which banner Kachina will debut in, she is rumored to be a 4-star Geo polearm user.
Leaked Phase 2 Banners In Genshin Impact 5.0
Kinich Leaks Suggest He Is A Dendro
The other new character, Kinich, is confirmed to have a Dendro Vision, rumored to be a 5-star claymore user. According to Kinich’s leaked gameplay kit by Foul, which was also posted on Reddit, his Elemental Skill will allow him to use a grappling hook to swing. When there are no enemies around, the cooldown for the hook will be reduced by 60%. When enemies are in proximity, however, Kinich's Skill will grapple onto an enemy, make him enter the Night Spirit Empowerment state, and see him spinning around the opponent he is connected to.
Kinich’s hook gameplay mechanic in Genshin Impact 5.0 had been mentioned by other leakers, too.
While connected to an enemy via the hook, Kinich’s Normal Attacks will see him shoot at the opponent, dealing Dendro DMG while also generating Night Spirit points. When Kinich’s Night Spirit value is at the maximum, players can allegedly use the Elemental Skill again, which will see him throw a bomb at the enemy – they can also hold the Skill to select the target and, after throwing the bomb, attempt to connect to that enemy. The bomb creates what is supposedly called a Blind Spot Zone, though its effects are not described in the leak.
The leak mentions that Kinich’s Elemental Burst makes him summon Ajaw to deal AoE Dendro DMG, an effect that continues happening even if he is not on the field – and one that can be extended if Kinich is in the Night Spirit Empowerment state. Kinich will be able to gain Night Spirit points by triggering Burn or Bloom reactions while in the Night Spirit Enhancement state, too. Based on the leak, it seems like Kinich will be a damage dealer with a huge focus on mobility due to his grapple hook.
Kinich may be a good pair for Emilie in Genshin Impact, as long as there are Pyro enablers in the team to trigger Burning.
Raiden Shogun, on the other side of the leaked Phase 2 banners, is one of the best sub-DPS in the game, and a great support and battery character. The Electro Archon can consistently deal Electro DMG while off-field, setting the stage for continuous Elemental Reactions. Additionally, she can help charge up the Elemental Bursts of the team and even boost the DMG of their Bursts.
For now, the leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to rerun characters, which can be changed at any time before the livestream. However, based on the current leaks, players may have a hard time deciding who to pull for in Version 5.0. The two new characters seem like exciting gameplay additions, even if their designs have prompted outrage among players demanding more representation. The two reruns are some of the best in the game, so players may have to be mindful of how they spend their Primogems in Genshin Impact 5.0.
